Information on return to school and blended learning
Posted January 7th 2021

The flowing information is the most up to date we have in circumstances that are changing almost on a daily basis.

Information for sixth year pupils.

Schools have been told to open and provide three days of face to face teaching for all sixth year students. In order to ensure that the same double classes are not impacted, it has been decided to have a rolling format of different days each week. In school classes will follow the current timetable exactly as before Christmas and the rolling format will be as follows:

Week beginning                       Days in school

January 11th                              Wednesday Jan 13th, Thursday Jan 14th, Friday Jan 15th

January 18th                             Monday Jan 18th, Tuesday Jan 19th , Wednesday Jan 20th

January 25th                             Tuesday Jan 26th, Wednesday Jan 27th, Thursday Jan 28th

On line teaching and learning will continue on the other two days each week
The Library and Blue Mall 1 will become baserooms for the classes currently using 9B and 10B as baserooms since they offer more space and better ventilation.

Information for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th year pupils

Blended teaching and learning will begin on Monday January 11th and will follow the normal timetable.
Most students have their box of books in their base room since before Christmas and they will need to collect these before blended learning begins.
The following arrangements have been made to collect books:
  1. Students arrive to carpark at the designated time only. (There will be no exceptions to this rule.)
  2. School management will check each student in as they arrive. There may be a need to queue if too many students arrive at the same time.
  3. Students must wear a mask and parents must remain in their cars
  4. Students will enter by the appropriate front entrances, go directly to their base room, collect their books and exit immediately by the back of the school
  5. They should bring an empty school bag to help alleviate some of the weight in the boxes
  6. There should be no congregating in the baseroom or on the corridor and they should leave the carpark as soon as they have collected everything.
  7. Siblings may arrive at the same time and follow the rules above

The arrival times are strictly as follows:
1st & 2nd Years Friday 8th January 10am -12noon
3rd & 5th Years Friday 8th January 1pm -3pm
Students will not be allowed into the school at any time outside these designated times to keep the number of possible contacts at a minimum.
Social mixing must be kept to a minimum
