Purchasing Laptops/Tablets/Computers

Picture

Many parents are now considering purchasing devices to assist with online learning following recent school closures.. The school use the Microsoft 365 Online Platform as a teaching and learning tool and will continue to develop its use to enhance the student experience. This platform can be accessed on mobile phones using the relevant apps. Please make sure that all apps are downloaded such as Outlook, Teams, Word, Powerpoint etc.

Microsoft 365 brings all of Microsoft’s core productivity and collaboration tools to the cloud. Email, group chat, and group collaboration within projects across multiple applications are all supported

Using office 365 on a laptop or Pc is a really effective way of using the platform. By logging on to www.office.com students and teachers have online access in one place to all of the tools on offer. Students have their own space to save material and work, a school email address and access to learning environments such as Teams. As these are all cloud based the can be accessed across multiple devices.

Many students and parents have been or are considering purchasing a device to  assist with online learning. There are many vendors and options open and many good deals to consider. Moyne Community School have come together with North Longford & Arva Credit Union who have very kindly offered a very low interest facility for students for the purchase of ICT devices.

Moyne CS also work closely with Wriggle Learning Ltd who manage our Microsoft 365 facility. They have opened a section on their online store for students or teachers in our school who may wish to purchase device at a reduced rate.
